Welcome to Miami
I absolutely love everything about Miami! South Beach, the Art Deco hotels, the Neon lights at night, the Modern Architecture, palm trees, blue skies, the pretty pastel colors of the buildings, the sporadic Cadillacs parked in front of the Ocean Drive's Art Deco Hotels, the famous eclectic lifeguard shacks, really everything! I had so much fun just walking around South Beach and I loved matching my outfits to the Miami's surroundings. Miami's beautiful blue clouded sky was just asking for me to wear my cloud printed top and skirt!
We stayed at the Park Central Hotel, one of the "famous" Ocean Drive Art Deco Hotels. The Hotel was okay, actually kind of pricey for how shabby it was. I think I had my first Everglades visit when taking a bath in the Hotel (Seriously the water looked like swamp water hahaha) I still loved every second of my stay but would recommend a cheaper/better Hotel off the crowded Ocean drive strip. See, the annoying part about Ocean Drive are the Hotel restaurants, it's impossible to just walk along the strip trying to enjoy the architecture without being lured in by hosts that want you to have dinner in their restaurants (also imo the restaurants on Ocean Drive are not that good). My favorite food place along Ocean Drive is good ol' Johnny Rockets, an affordable Diner with all American hamburgers, delicious milkshakes and floats (soda and ice cream!)
At night (and before the beaches closed) we went to the beach (no need to stay we picked up one of Johnny Rockets milkshakes beforehand), crawled onto one of the lifeguard shacks and just enjoyed the magnificent views, hardly anything will beat the view of the neon lighted Miami skyline on one side and the moonlit sea on the other! Another thing not to be missed in Miami are Mojitos! You cannot visit Miami without Mojitos and Cuban food!
